Audi China was established in Beijing in 2009 as a fully owned subsidiary of AUDI AG. The company coordinates the business cooperation between AUDI AG, FAW Group and the joint venture FAW-Volkswagen, and SAIC Motor and the joint venture SAIC VOLKSWAGEN. In addition, Audi China supports global activities of AUDI AG, especially in Asia. Audi China's business areas include R&D, corporate strategy and planning, marketing and sales, corporate communications and PR, finance, product management, human resources, production, procurement, government affairs, quality/technical services, and legal affairs.

Location Changchun
Changchun, a city of around 7.5 million people, is home to China’s oldest and largest automotive company First Automobile Works (FAW). The production site was established in 1988. At the moment, the Audi A4 L, Audi A6 L, A6L e-tron and Audi Q5 L model lines are being produced here for the Chinese market. End of 2020, the Audi e-tron will also be produced here.

Location Foshan
As part of its joint venture with Volkswagen and First Automotive Works (FAW), Audi began running a second production facility in China in late 2013. The Foshan production site is located in Guangdong Province in southern China. The Audi A3 Sportback, the Audi A3 Sedan, the Audi Q2L and the Q2 L e-tron are currently rolling off the production line here for the local market.

Location Tianjin
Together with Volkswagen Automatic Transmission Tianjin (VWATJ), Audi is producing high-efficiency 7-speed S tronic transmissions for the new Audi Q3, as well as for other local models in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin. At the FAW- VW Tianjin Car Plant, Audi has also been producing the new Q3 since 2019. Starting from 2020, the Audi Q3 Sportback is produced here as well.

Location Qingdao
Qingdao is the newest branch in the FAW-VW family. Opened in 2018, this FAW-VW production site is located in Jimo, about 60km away from the modern city center by the sea. Its first Audi model will be the A3 Sportback which starts production here in mid 2020, closely followed by the A3 Sedan in the same year.
Besides car production, the branch also has production facilities for high-voltage batteries. The batteries from Qingdao electrify the VW eBora as well as the Q2 L e-tron, which is built in Foshan.
